ALT 3000	New Projects
	PHOTOGRAPHY AND MEASUREMENTS IN ALTITUDES Altafoto has started recently the trials of the development of a new kind of globes specialised on taking pictures in altitudes and performing meteorological measurements. The system consists on a globe that rises a parachute and a platform carrying a digital camera and weather sensors. When it reaches a pre-established altitude, the parachute and its contents are launched on a free fall until reaching the ground. Both launching and free fall are continuisly monitored by GPS, thus providing the capacity to locate the exact point of landing.

		During the ascension of the equipment and its free fall, the camera takes pictures (“zenith” type) continuously and stores the meteorogical data obtainned during its trajectory . So far, we have realised launchings up to an altitude of 3.000 metres and we count on launching up to an altitude of 8.000 metres very soon. All launchings must be previously authorised by the Civil Aviation Authority.
